In 1986 a loss adjuster, in the process of settling a household burglary claim, found the client to be only half insured. The client asked: “How is it that when I took out this policy and I asked the insurance company to send someone to value my stuff, they said that they had no one that could do that, but now when I have a claim, you are here telling me that I’m underinsured?”

There really is not a ready answer to this oft' asked question. People simply don’t understand why their insurer will only value their goods when there’s a claim. Thus was born the first specialist domestic insurance valuer in the world - Qantam.
